Did You Know?

Downtown residents can obtain blue print drawings of what his/her buildings originally looked like from the Western Historical Manuscript Collection (web2.umkc.edu/WHMCKC).

If you are interested, it helps to have the original address, name of the building, architect, or anything specific about the building to help them find it. Generally, the current address of the building is not the the same as when it was built.

If you are looking for photographs, you can also contact the Missouri Valley Special Collections (www.kclibrary.org/kchistory/about-mvsc).  Again, you will need information about the building to help them locate yours.

There are also fees associated with research and copies at each location (they vary based on what is being copied, etc.)

Happy hunting!
