Come and hear about the largest infrastructure project in Kansas City's history! Kansas City Water Services will talk about the City's Overflow Control Program (OCP) and how the future improvements will benefit downtown KC. Kansas City developed the plan to meet regulatory requirements related to reducing and preventing sewer overflows. More information can be found at: https://www.kcwaterservices.org/overflow-control-program/
Some more details from the Kansas City Water Services website:
Did you know? Most of Kansas City’s wastewater infrastructure is made up of separate sewer systems. Water Services maintains 260 square miles of separate sewer systems, and 58 square miles of combined sewer systems. The combined sewer systems can be found in the oldest parts of Kansas City. Some of our combined sewer systems, dating back to 1863, are still in use today!
